Webbing

Webbing – Placing my general information in a web of connected circles can help me see relationships.

Grouping

Clustering – Linking words and phrases by connecting them with lines can help me build a map of my ideas and begin to see how things are related.

Outlining

Outlining – I can organize my thoughts by making an outline of the important ideas.

Questioning

Defining question/need – Before I can be a successful searcher I need to construct thoughtful questions that define exactly what I'm looking for.

Modifying

Narrowing/Broadening – Sometimes my first searches find too much information. That tells me my topic is too general and needs narrowed to something more specific. Or, my early searches could find too little information if my topic is too specific or narrow. When that happens I need to broaden my topic by looking at related ideas.

Listing Listing – Writing my thoughts down in a list is one way to examine my ideas. top
